Activity 1: Out of the Box
If you click on PLAY AGAIN in the box located to your left, words will rise from the tops of Big Box and Little. Ask your child to identify as many of the words as they can. Write the words as the child pronounces them.If you have two children, ages seven and older, let them have a contest to see how many words they can say in 10 seconds. The one who ways the most will be the winner. Repeat the game over several days or weeks to see if they can increase the number of words they can identify.Help each child write the word, learn to spell it, and use it correctly in a sentence.Each week, select one of the words and find the definition in the click here for

Activity 2: Words Shape Character
WORDS SHAPE CHARACTERMany times what you say to your child is what he will become. If you say he is lazy enough times he may believe it and act that way. Most parents say they want their child to grow up to be successful, get along with their peers, and be able to take care of themselves. However, parents must use words that reflect how they want their children to act later in life.For this reason, we have defined the positive words that appear in the Big Box, Little Box book and animated DVD. Practice these Simple Rules....1.) Call your child by his name (not a negative name).2.) If you want your child to practice a certain behavior, you must practice the same behavior.3.) Compliment your child when he demonstrates the behavior you expect. Emphasize the positives.4.) Monitor television programs and video games. Encourage your child to watch programs that model the behavior you expect.
